Adam Clague was born in Royal Oak, Michigan. As a child, he always had an interest in drawing, his subject of choice usually being comic heroes and cartoons. He also enjoyed representational art, and earned recognition in the 1997 Michigan State Fair with a Best of Show award for his colored pencil rendering of a still life of soda cans.

After enrolling at Pensacola Christian College in Florida, he developed a passion for oil painting and a love for rendering the human portrait. Adam graduated from PCC in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in commercial art, and earned a Master of Fine Arts from PCC in 2009.

While earning his degree, Adam teaches Drawing at the college. Adam has a passion for the painted portrait, and seeks to capture his subject's physical likeness, as well as the subject's personality and character. He credits his artistic abilities as being a gift from God, and seeks to glorify Christ in all he does.
